 Welcome to the Sweet Water Ranch Sire/Dam List! Enjoy browsing over the list and I hope you see some sires and/or dams that you would like to add to your breeding program.

 Sweet Water Ranch was established in 1985, then named Sun Valley Stables. Our foundation stallions are Mijacogeo, Shorty Blackwell and Supplicio. Since then we’ve branched out with a large variety of breeds.

  Foals must be 4 years younger than it's youngest parent. Stallions may breed at age 3, the foals will be born when sire is 4.

 All pedigrees have at least 4 generations. There will be a set of numbers (5/6 for example) listed with each horse. This will indicate the generations in that horse’s pedigree. Meaning 5 generations on the sire’s side and 6 generations on the dam’s side. Breeding certificates (both snail mail and e-mail) will have a 4 generation pedigree. Extended pedigrees if available will be offered for a slight fee. Certificates also include an up to date foaling record. Real horses used will have an –r next to their name. Any real mares used have been or are currently being RMR approved.

 Breeding fees are free to IPABRA and Express Racing members and are 10 cents per parent or 15 cents per pair for all others. E-mail requests are welcome. Please limit requests to 5 at a time. For snail mail certificates, please send s LSASE with 1 first class stamp for every 4 certificates.If possible, please send a pic of the foal for breeding classes.I can re-imburse you the print fee. The photo will only be shown in s/g or d/p classes.

This page provides a photo, show/foaling records and make/mold info. It can be checked periodically on the web pages as they are completed and updated so that you may update sibling lists for your horses. Send an SASE and 5 cents (to cover printing costs) for each snail mail record requested.

Please consider color genetics when choosing parents for your foals. I’ll include a simple chart for colors with this list. To be safe, please have at least one parent the same color as the foal.

Cross breeding is welcome. An appaloosa colored Morgan cannot be a Purebred Morgan. NO inbreeding is allowed. No father/daughter, mother/son, full sister/brother breeding is permitted.

When requesting sires/dams, please note that all foals must be at least three years younger than it’s sire and four years younger than it’s dam. Please send the following info: foal’s name, age, breed, sex, make/mold/#, OF/CM, and requested sire/dam. I’ll need the same info of a parent if it is not from SWR, plus as much of the pedigree as possible. Any show history or periodic updates is appreciated..

 All mares have the years that are open listed. Any year missingis now unavailable. Mares can have one foal per year. Foals may be aging or non-aging…or stop aging at a certain year.
