Nothing real spectacular here, no gossip, stories, great pix, etc. Just a page devoted to my favorite group of fellas. (Besides Bob & Charlie, 'natch!). Just about me and when I fell for the Monkees, bits about my collection, etc. I fell in love with the Monkees in 1976. I was almost 10. I still adore them no end! I still have the 1st album my parents gave me...it is far from playable these days (Mom has always regretted giving me that!), but one of my most treasured items. I'll get a pic of the pathetic thing up here one of these days. I don't really have a fave Monkee. They're all special in their own way. Each has his special itty bitty attribute that makes me adore him....then the moments of "he's such a jerk!".... I am mainly drawn to adoring Micky and Peter. My collection is not terribly extravagant or awesome, but it's all mine! I have all the originals except Changes. A few imports, a 3 album bootleg set, and my second most beloved item ... David's 1965 Colpix album (excellent++ condition....I've played it twice!!) that I got personally autographed on March 5, 1988. And I have all 4 autographs (only 2 acquired personally). A BIG Thank You goes to Rich for giving me Michael's!!! Here's a picture of Breyer Model Horse's "Corky & Bimbo"! The original was released in 1958. I was unable to afford the price it's going for now and to my relief, Breyer decided to re-issue this item in 2000 . . .can you imagine how quickly I snatched that sucker off the shelf??!! I chose from about 5 different sets. On most of them, Corky has these horrid freckles (not attractive at all!). I found one without. I guess the new Millennium has some good things going for it, eh? I finally got in there and dusted those critters and was pleasantly surprised to discover the herd numbers over 275! Woo-Hoo!! Takes two days to dust that mob! I'll get pix of them as a group up on that page soon! promise! Here's a picture of the beanie bears as Monkees. They are totally precious. Bob knows to panic and clutch the poor checkbook, when I'm on the Web and yell, "Oh, wow!!! Look what I found!!". The little beanies are just perfect to the tiniest detail. Just had to have 'em! I do have kinda sorta funny stories about meeting Micky and David, but won't go into them...my friends know those stories and say, "yeah that's Holly! She'll get the attention of ANYONE!!" I guess all I can say is "Mom you were wrong! I never grew out of it!" Thank goodness!! Thanx for stopping by and hopefully this page will be a bit more interesting as time goes on. Would love to hear from other Monkees fans (any age is welcome! I feel like an old lady these days!), tell me about your collection....etc....!! I can do great werewolf imitations (yeah, you know if you do it just right it kinda sounds like a werewolf), I never get the joke (that one went right over your head didn't it? YEP!), I'm almost 5' 3" (shucks I'm 5' 4"), and my "trademark" is bouncy pony tail...always running somewhere with that darn thing bouncing like crazy! Then there's the surprise wise-a** personality that pops out here and there...."Wow! Holly's so quiet and meek! Then Whammo!" I've piped up with some crazy remark. Oh, and please, please please, sign into my guestbook. It's a catch-all book for folks who share all my hobbies, interests and collections.
